This is a contemporary story of a band on the road. A group of young Maori men form a reggae band, and in the process discover what each wants out of their lives. Tensions grows as personal insecurities threaten to overwhelm the musical groove that comes naturally to them. While touring “The Pa Boys” have great success on stage, but their travels around the country expose them to a spiritual history that will not leave them alone. The anger and bitterness of unresolved events threaten to break up the band. The connection to the spirit world makes sense of life and death for the band. In the face of sad events they step out of the shadows to find understanding and peace, and great sounds.
